North Lodge Park in Darlington is located right in the town centre and is well used by local residents. The Friends of North Lodge Park grew out of a successful Park Watch Scheme and aims to deter anti-social usage of the park through a range of activities and events for the wider community.
The group continue to grow and have succeeded in producing and circulating an informative newsletter, which has increased attendance and activities at the park.
Friends of North Lodge Park were granted £1,000 to increase production and enhance their newsletter, in the hope that this will attract new readers and encourage them to take part in activities within the park.
The funding allowed Friends of North Lodge Park to produce four editions of the newsletter “Branchlings” including colour features and photographs of events.
“The main benefit of this grant is that it
has helped to raise awareness and local pride in our park.”
